Request for Startups

Cohort 1# is a focused call. Backed by Green Energy Group (GEG) and powered by W11 Ventures, we are looking for seed-stage startups with a working proof of concept or MVP that address specific, high-value problems in renewable energy and energy tech.

Domain fit is an eligibility condition. Applications outside the domains below, or with low relevance to the stated solutions, will not be considered regardless of team or traction. Read carefully before applying.

You will be asked to declare your primary domain in the application form and demonstrate specifically how your solution addresses it. If none of the domains below fits your startup, do not apply to this cohort.

Tier 1

High Priority

Curtailment monetization

Converting clipped and curtailed energy into revenue: flexible loads, thermal storage, hydrogen, compute. Cyprus has a structural surplus problem and we hold the operational data to prove it.

AI dispatch and market bidding

Self-learning dispatch that co-optimises arbitrage, ancillary services and degradation cost. We are interested in systems that go beyond rule-based EMS logic.

Asset health, predictive maintenance and autonomous O&M

Physics-informed battery diagnostics and remaining useful life estimation, predictive maintenance across inverters, transformers, MV switchgear, protection relays and trackers, and robotic or autonomous inspection and cleaning. Fleet-level models rather than SCADA threshold alarms.

AI-driven energy auditing for C&I

Tools that replace the manual audit with something continuous and data-led: automated disaggregation of site consumption down to equipment level from meter and submeter data, anomaly detection against expected load profiles, and automated identification and ranking of efficiency measures with payback.

Grid forming storage and advanced power electronics

Grid forming BESS, synthetic inertia, black start, island mode operation. High priority given Cyprus is an isolated system with no interconnector.

Medium Priority

Behind-the-meter industrial flexibility

Closed loop orchestration of process load, cooling, EV charging and storage at commercial and industrial sites. Control systems, not dashboards.

Long duration and non-lithium storage

Sodium-ion, iron-air, flow, thermal and gravity storage. Anything beyond the four hour lithium window.

Thermal management for high ambient conditions

Cooling and derating solutions for power electronics and containerised systems operating above 45°C. A real constraint for us and underserved globally.

OT security for distributed assets

SCADA-level anomaly detection and response across distributed generation and storage, in line with NIS2 obligations.

We will also review startups in adjacent high-value renewable energy and energy-tech domains, provided the fit is specific and defensible.

What We Offer

A 3-month program built around pilots, mentors, and investors

The program culminates in a global Demo Day and includes pilot access with GEG's operating portfolio, hands-on mentors, and an international investor network.

Terms: 3% equity via SAFE/Warrant plus ROFR.
